What a buyer should know

Where it sits

The Senses 62 competes head-on with the Silent 60 and 62 — same length band at 18.8 m, same solar-electric bluewater proposition — but it approaches the brief differently. The 10.3 m beam is notably generous for the length, and that shows in the accommodation: four cabins and nine berths in a hull under 19 m is genuine liveaboard volume rather than a weekender's layout. It suits an owner planning extended time aboard with family or a small crew, and it suits charter operation where cabin count drives revenue.

The price and the missing data

At €3.49m it asks roughly €740,000 more than the Silent 60. Some of that is defensible on beam and interior volume alone, but the comparison cannot be completed on the evidence we hold, because Soel does not disclose motor output or battery capacity on the listing.

That absence is a real obstacle at this price. On a solar-electric catamaran, pack size and installed power are the specification — they determine passage speed, overnight hotel load endurance, and how quickly the roof replaces what you have used. A buyer should treat the missing figures as the first question to the yard, alongside solar array output and a stated range at a stated cruising speed, before comparing the boat against its Austrian rivals.

Written from the builder’s published specifications and the wider market, not from testing the boat ourselves. Always confirm figures with the manufacturer before committing.
