What a buyer should know
Same platform, different proposition
The Tridente is best understood as the Lion's platform taken up a tier and wrapped in a car marque. The carbon hull from Hodgdon Yachts, the rose-gold livery and the Trident branding are the product; the engineering beneath — 252 kWh, roughly 447 kW, a sub-hour 10 to 90 per cent charge — is recognisably Vita's own.
Read the range figure carefully. Fifty nautical miles is quoted alongside a 40-knot top speed and a 25-knot cruise, and those cannot coexist: the range belongs to gentle running, the speed to short bursts. For the lake and coastal day cruising Maserati explicitly positions it for, that is a fair match. For anyone intending to cover ground, it is not.
Who it is for, and the honest caveats
Buyers for whom the badge is the reason, and who have a berth capable of exploiting the fast-charge claim — without that infrastructure the boat's best operational feature is inert. No price appears in the specification here; reported launch pricing has been around €2.5 million for what is described as a short series rather than open production, so availability and delivery timescale should be confirmed directly. Set against the mechanically related Lion at €900,000, that premium is paid almost entirely in carbon, finish and marque. That is a legitimate reason to buy a boat. It is not a value argument, and no one should mistake it for one.
